DiveLog Pro (“DiveLog Pro”, “the App”, “we”, “us”) is operated by:

ILS International Language Services Sprachdienst GmbH is the controller responsible for the processing of personal data in connection with DiveLog Pro, unless otherwise stated.
2. About DiveLog Pro
DiveLog Pro is a digital dive log application that allows users to create, store, manage and import information about scuba dives.
The App includes features for recording dive information, managing equipment and certification information, adding photographs and marine-life observations, locating dive sites on maps, importing compatible dive-log files, and using artificial intelligence (“AI”) to assist with certain functions.
3. Personal Data We Process
Depending on how you use DiveLog Pro, we may process the following categories of information.
Account and Contact Information
When you create or use an account, we may process information such as:
- name;
- email address;
- account identifier;
- authentication information; and
- information received from authentication providers when you choose services such as Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In.
The information received depends on the authentication method you select and the privacy settings associated with that service.
Dive Log Information
Information entered into or imported into your dive log may include:
- date and time of dives;
- dive site and location;
- geographic coordinates;
- maximum and average depth;
- dive duration;
- water temperature;
- gas and tank information;
- equipment used;
- dive buddy information;
- dive notes;
- certification-related information;
- marine-life observations;
- photographs and other attachments; and
- other information contained in a dive record.
Location Information
DiveLog Pro does not require continuous tracking of your physical location for the dive-log functionality described in this policy.
Locations and coordinates associated with dives may be manually entered, selected or otherwise added by the user.
Location information may be processed by mapping services in order to display dive sites and assist with locating a dive site on a map.
Photographs and Files
You may choose to upload photographs and files to DiveLog Pro.
These may include photographs associated with dives, marine-life observations or other dive information.
Depending on the contents of a photograph or file, it may contain additional information or metadata.
You should only upload content that you are entitled to use and that you are comfortable processing through the App.
Imported Dive Data
DiveLog Pro supports the import of compatible dive-log data, including files exported from Oceanic+.
Information contained in an imported file may be processed and stored in your DiveLog Pro account in order to create or update your dive records.
Oceanic+ is a third-party product and is not operated by us. DiveLog Pro’s import functionality does not imply affiliation with or endorsement by the provider of Oceanic+.
4. Artificial Intelligence Features
DiveLog Pro includes optional AI-assisted functionality.
AI may be used to:
- assist in identifying or locating a dive site on a map;
- help identify marine life described or recorded by a user; and
- generate illustrative images of marine life.
When you use an AI feature, information necessary to process your request may be transmitted to our technology providers and their AI service providers.
This information may include, depending on the feature used:
- descriptions entered by you;
- dive-site names;
- location or coordinate information;
- dive notes;
- marine-life observations; and
- other information included in the request.
AI-generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete or incorrect. AI-generated images are illustrative and may not accurately depict the species, individual animal, location or observation concerned.
Users should independently verify important information generated by AI.
Do not submit unnecessary confidential, highly sensitive, medical or other sensitive personal information to the AI features.
5. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data for purposes including:
Performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR):
- creating and maintaining your account;
- providing DiveLog Pro;
- storing and displaying your dive logs;
- processing imported dive information;
- providing mapping functions;
- providing requested AI functions;
- storing photographs and other content;
- authentication; and
- providing requested support.
Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), where applicable:
- maintaining the security and integrity of the App;
- preventing misuse and fraud;
- troubleshooting technical problems;
- protecting our legal rights; and
- improving the reliability of the service.
Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), where required:
We may rely on your consent where a particular feature or processing operation requires consent under applicable law or platform requirements.
You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred lawfully before withdrawal.
Legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR):
We may process or retain information where necessary to comply with applicable legal obligations.
6. Base44
DiveLog Pro is built, hosted and operated using infrastructure and services provided by Base44.
Base44 may process personal data on our behalf in order to provide services including application hosting, databases, authentication, storage, APIs, infrastructure and AI functionality.
For these activities, Base44 acts as a processor on our behalf where applicable.
Base44 may engage subprocessors to provide infrastructure and AI-related services.
7. AI and Other Third-Party Service Providers
Certain functionality may require information to be processed by third-party providers, including:
- hosting and infrastructure providers;
- authentication providers;
- mapping services;
- AI service providers;
- file and media processing services; and
- security or technical infrastructure providers.
Where personal information is disclosed to a third-party processor or subprocessor, we require appropriate contractual and data-protection safeguards where required by applicable law.
We do not sell users’ personal data.
We do not use users’ dive logs for third-party advertising.
8. International Data Transfers
Some service providers used by DiveLog Pro or Base44 may operate or process information outside Austria or the European Economic Area (“EEA”), including in the United States.
Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, appropriate safeguards required under applicable data-protection law are used where necessary. Depending on the recipient and circumstances, these may include an adequacy decision, participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Data Storage and Security
We and our service providers use technical and organisational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss or destruction.
However, no internet-based service, software application or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
Users are responsible for keeping their account credentials secure.
10. Retention
We retain account information and dive-log data for as long as necessary to provide DiveLog Pro to you and while your account remains active.
When you delete your account, personal data associated with the account will be deleted or anonymised unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or other legitimate legal purposes.
Technical backups may retain deleted information for a limited period before being overwritten or permanently deleted.
11. Account and Data Deletion
Users can request or initiate deletion of their DiveLog Pro account and associated personal data using the account deletion functionality provided within the App.
Account deletion is permanent.
Subject to information that we are legally required or permitted to retain, deletion will include information associated with your account, including stored dive logs and user-uploaded content.

12. Your GDPR Rights
If the GDPR applies to you, you may have the right to:
- obtain information about the processing of your personal data;
- obtain access to your personal data;
- correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- request deletion of your personal data;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to certain processing;
- receive certain information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
- lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

14. Children’s Privacy
DiveLog Pro is not specifically directed at young children.
Where applicable, users must satisfy the minimum age requirements necessary to enter into an agreement for use of the App or obtain any legally required permission from a parent or legal guardian.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children contrary to applicable law.
15. Dive Buddies and Information About Other People
Dive logs may allow users to record information concerning dive buddies or other persons.
Users should avoid entering unnecessary personal information about other individuals and are responsible for ensuring that they have an appropriate basis for entering or uploading such information.
16. No Advertising Sale or Tracking
We do not sell personal information collected through DiveLog Pro.
Unless this policy is updated to state otherwise, DiveLog Pro does not use users’ dive-log information for targeted third-party advertising.
17. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when DiveLog Pro, our service providers or applicable legal requirements change.
The current version will be made available through the App or an associated website.
Where required by law, users will be notified of material changes or asked to provide renewed consent.
